Chromebook With No Sd Card Slot

The sandisk microsdxc card should arrive soon. My chromebook 14 will not read my sd card from the usb slot my sd card did read but it does not know i have tryed powerwash did not work can you help.

When you say that the sd card will not read from the usb slot that is particularly confusing. I assume the slot is sdxc but is it uhs? I presume this is an effort by google to push cloud.
